The R&D Unit is responsible for research, organizational and educational change, and curriculum development related to First Nations. The R&D Unit also assists First Nations involved in the development of First Nations language curricula. This unit coordinates oral and action research to facilitate consultation and to gather data from Elders and First Nations communities. This unit includes the First Nations Languages Initiative Program and hosts an Annual Elders’ Gathering.
