Manitoba First Nations Science Fair
The Manitoba First Nations Science Fair is designed to provide further opportunity for schools, in addition to your local science fair program, your regional competition, and the MSSS. It serves to support the “networking” of our schools in the area of science fair.
It aims to encourage participation in science fairs by First Nations Schools and leads to greater interest in, and commitment to developing competitive science fair programs in First Nations Schools.

Science Fair Teacher Manual
Special Note to Teachers

1. Students without a lot of experience developing their own studies and experiments, who have not had repeated experience in experiment design, and who have not had extensive successful science fair experience, CANNOT on their own produce quality science fair projects in the short term.

2. Given the above, it is an expectation that the project is a joint effort between the teacher and the student, and as such

3. The responsibility for completion is a shared one.

4. To take this concept one step further, because we see science fair as part of the teaching and development process, the teacher must feel free to involve himself / herself to whatever extent is necessary to ensure the student completes a quality project utilizing Math, Language, and Scientific Thinking skills at or above his grade level. No matter what the extent of your involvement in design and decision-making, at the end of the process, we can still end up with a student who has done the learning and can present the project to judges and the public....

You not only get to select which mystery to solve, but you can creatively design methods for uncovering clues that will lead to the final revelation of who, what, when, where, how, and why. This book will give you guidance and ideas. It's your job to discover the answers!
